Default So, how much work is it to fit the Pioneer TS-SW841D slims in the door?

Anyone?

If anyone has done or knows....help me out, thanks.

Do they work well?

I was told there is one spot that you are going to have to heat up with a heat gun then press the speaker into place to mold it out a tad bit. Also, I only think three of the stock holes will line up. Another method you could try would be to make some baffle rings, but the downside to that is your 8s will stick out a bit.

I also had another installer tell me that he removed the pods behind the speaker to make the door subwoofers more of a free air or infinite baffle setup. The only downside was that he needed to mass load the plastic panel to stop it from vibrating to the beat. Of course in this instance, the customer was running the door 8s as his sole subwoofers.

I wouldn't reuse the Shaker 500 amplifiers on aftermarket speakers and I highly doubt they have the ability to be bridged. Another downside to the Shaker 500 factory amplifiers is that they are phased weird. Naturally, the phase issue only comes into play if you are using an aftermarket trunk subwoofer in addition to the stock Shaker amplifiers and subwoofers.

IIRC, the shaker 500 subwoofers are dual voice coil and your Pioneer slim mounts are not. I wish you lots of luck if you try to reuse the factory amplifiers on your aftermarket speakers. You may find that you made things sound worse instead of sounding better.
