Default 90 Mustang GT Aftermarket CD Player No sound?

I had the factory am/fm tape in the car (90 GT), had to take it out because the screen was broken. Got great reception and sound was produced through the speakers. I put a new aftermarket CD player in it, purchased the correct harnesses so I didnt chop anything up. Triple checked my connections. I get power, reception, all functions, but no sound, not even static. I dont understand what the problem is. Someone at work told me I might need something else cause its a GT with premium sound?? Help!

i think premium sound only means that it has better speakers in it. try and exchange the cd player, you might have gotten a bad one.

test the cd player by running separate wires to speakers and see if you get any sound, you might have bad wires, or even blown speakers. other then that, it could be your high input harness. good luck.
