Ok so I've spent 2 weeks sifting thru dash cd units and i hate everything out there. I want something simple and sleek and it has to be something that someone as mentally-challenged as I am can still figure out how to work.
So I found this today and it's absolutely perfect. Yea, it's for a boat. But look at it! And it's just different because it's waterproof.
I called Tweeter to make sure it could even go into my car (89 lx convertible) and he said as long as it's standard den size it would be fine.
So what do you think? A lot of people i know really dig Clarion, and if this fits it's probably what I'll be getting.
Any thoughts, suggestions, etc?
Thanks much

It should fit fine . just so you know , because it was made for a boat , it is probably more expensive than a regular stereo . I like clarion . I've never had a problem with them .

I get nervous when they don't report the THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) of a product. To me that is one of the most important things to look for is the lowest THD I can find. That means the clearer the sound will be.
I always look for THD if the head unit is powered it should have a THD rating with it, here is a little better explanation of THD as talked about with AMPs but same thing for powered head units.
THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) is a spec that often shows up with the power output spec. An example would be "45wattsx2 @ 0.01% THD" This spec says that at an output level of 45watts into each channel the THD will be no more than 0.01%. Sometimes manufacturers will quote the power spec at a THD of 1%. Be wary of this, 1% THD is poor and either implies that the amp is not very high quality or that the manufacturer is artificially inflating the power output spec by running the amp into a higher distortion region where it does produce more power but more distortion as well. Either way it is a sign of a poor amp or marketing that decieves. Anything less than 0.1% is negligible.
For $136 I wouldn't worry about THD. More like how long will the deck last. Besides, if you by a cheep deck cause it sounds good the you're mostly like to belive that MP3's sound just as good as CD's. I say buy it and don't compair it to anything good or you'll be disapointed. Believe me, it's cheep for a reason.

well i'm not trying to go cheap in purpose but it's all i can really do and i'm not patient enough to sit around with an f-d up radio until i can drop a few hundred on a cd player. 136 is the cheapest i found for that particular unit...everywhere else it's hovering between 200 and 250.
but i duno, i also found an Aiwa that's pretty decent looking for about 170. I haven't heard any good or bad reviews for them, but my stereo in my room is by them and it sucks so i'm not really so into that.
really if you have any suggestions for something around $150 that is of decent quality, just let me know. I'm trying to buy and install within the next month and a half, so any quick help would be verrry greatly appreciated : )
thanks for the replies so far though, really you're helpin me out a lot
