Default 2002 Mustang with broken cd player

2002 ford mustang....6 cd changer. i had no cds in the cd player and went to put one in. it went in ok but the cd player wasn't reading it. so i went to eject it and it says that theres no cd but there is!!!! then when i go to load a cd into any slot it says CD ERROR. so my cd never ejected, i cant put any cds in and everytime i turn my car on it says cd error!! does anyone have any ideas to help me fix it because im not really sure how to take the face plate off and fix it?

Mine does the same thing- won't eject CD's, etc. It's been replaced once while under warranty.

Took me a while to remember what I did last time. I just did this about an hour ago, it worked on mine.

Disconnect the battery for about 20 minutes or so. Then reconnect, and put a key in the ignition. The radio will work to get itself going, takes a minute or so. The clock will appear on the face. At this point turn the key slightly so the radio will function, and then push and hold down the eject button. All the CD's will eject. You can reset again by unhooking the battery if you want to, but I've found that this happens about every 18 months or so regardless of what I do.
