Default Component speaker systems

I'm a little bit confused about component speaker systems. I don't have a mach 460 or 1000 so I'm t hinking a component system would be good becouse I w ould get some tweeters with the speakers. But what exactly is usually included in component systems? Do they replace all four speakers or just two or what? I know this must sound really stupid but I know just about nothing on the stereo department so be kind

Most of the time they come in pairs and they almost always come with a passive crossover for each speaker.

A component set should be the only way to go. They are not so important in the rear as they are in the front. Basically you are getting 4 speakers in place of two. The little speakers are more for the crystal sounds or sparkeling sounds (AKA Highs) and the speakers that go in the lower part of the doors are more for the mid range sounds like voices and very little bass (AKA Mids) Then you have the subs for obvious low sounds. (AKA Lows) When you do thi Joes you cover everything from the lowest frequencies to the highest which will give you much better sound. With the traditional speakers they try to pack all three types into one but they never achive the sounds that seperates have. Good Luck Joe

If you're looking for a good component set on a budget, check out www.thezeb.com, they have a sale on right now on some CDT-61 components for $150. European made, high sound quality, get loud, and sound beautiful.
