Default Odd background noise in my system

Hey...
I just jerryrigged a 50 watt amp to serve in place of my 2 missing mach460 amps, but now i get this whistling noise that coretates exactly with my engine speed....high rpms: loud noise, Low rpm's: soft noise.
Any news on what this could be or what i could do to stop it? (im guessing it has to do with where my system gets its power, i.e the battery cause when the cars off and the battery isnt charging the sound is gone...wierd eh? anyways any info would be greatly appreciated...

It sounds like maybe you have a ground loop problem. It happens when you have multiple grounding points in a system.

make sure you get a good ground with the ground wire. preferably with bare metal from the body. like under your carpet. but make sure each ground is grounded by itself and not with each other. you can check the rca jacks at the amp too make sure that they are getting good contact.also what kind of radio are you using? i once used a cheap radio and whinned like hell then i switched to pioneer and all was gone.

YOU MIGHT WANT TO CHECK YOUR GROUND AT THE RADIO AS WELL. TRY AND GRON IT TO THE CHASSIS AS WELL INSTEAD OF THE WIRES FROM THE DASH. IF THIS DONT WORK THEN YOU MIGHT NEED A GROUND LOOP ISOLATOR SOLD THROUGH RADIO SHOPS. BUT SOMETIMES THEY DONT WORK.

thats weird.. it actually sounds like one of my problems that I have currently also. I have mach460 w/ an alpine 7876 deck (60x4) deck. it sounds great when its working properly, but at certain times the left tweeter goes out and starts whistling, it seems to go with my engine speed also, the faster i go the more it whines, etc. sometimes when i go over a bump or somethin it goes away, lol, its pretty weird. I dont know where to look or what to look for.. it seems like maybe a similar problem. well thats my 2¢, tell me if you ever get it figured out.

...yeah mine keeps blowing fuses in main box.... it takes out the clock and spedo...i suspect that the guy who put it in tapped into the clock for power, and the fuse blows cause of the high amperage...so ima gunna re-wire it and see what happens...
