Default 6 CD Changer on Mach460 locked up

I have all 6 slots filled on my CD changer. When I tried to eject one, the unit locked up, says"CD ERROR" and won't do anything now. Had this happen once before and the unit sort of fixed itself overnight. All commercial CD's or homemade CD's without labels.

Anyone know a trick to get it to spit out the CD's? Or will I have to take it into the shop? The trip to the shop is such a hassle. All of the dealers around here including mine has the attitude that if the car is drivable, they don't want to fool with it.

Had the same problem this weekend, swapping disks and got to slot 4 and got the CD Error. Use a credit card slipped under the stuck CD and pry it up and forward. It left a mark on the CD but it still worked fine. After I got the stuck CD out I loaded it back up and everything worked fine.

this is a common problem with the 6 cd changer. if you have cd's that have paper labels attached to them they will get stuck in the changer. I usse a small index card to slide undet the cd in the chamber and it will pop right out. Once this happens you will experience this problem from now on. go ahead and take it to the dealer. This is a known problem and if it is still under warrenty they will replace the head unit free. You should have had a notice sent to you regarding the changer and paper labels used on homemade cd's. I received mine around the end of april or the beginning of may of this year after mine was replaced by ford.
I have already posted about this subject and the fix in this section. use search and find simmiliar posts on this subject. good luck!
