Default Shaker 500... upgrading?

I was reading my november 09' 5.0 mag this morning with my cup of coffee, and I found myself drooling over an in-dash nav system by pioneer. I was looking at the mid range model the AVIC-X910BT. I did a bit of research and found that it has a 50x4 watt output. It boasts awesome support with Iphone, hands free calling and all the bells and whistles. My questions are 2 fold, if anyone has upgraded to this particular system, or one similar, and can give any feedback on how it actually works with an Iphone 3g... That would be awesome. And my major concern is, the wattage. I love the audio quality of the shaker 500. With the shaker is there actually an amp that ups the power to the speakers, or is it all contained in the reciever unit? I just don't want to sacrifice power if I upgrade! as always guys, I really appreciate any comments.

The amplifier that powers your 6x8s is housed in the factory head unit. Your new HU will power those speakers just fine.

The only down side is that your subwoofers have a 5 volt remote turn on and your head unit will provide a 12 volt output to those amplifiers located in the driver's side kick area. This will cause the subwoofers to pop horrifically when turned on and off. A Radio Shack type 7805 5 volt voltage regulator will solve this problem.
