Default Shaker 500 and Pioneer AVIC related Sub amplifier question

Alright so sorry if this is a repost of some sort. I was unable to find an exact answer hence making a thread.

I have a 2009 GT Premium with the Shaker 500 system from factory. I am looking to get a double din nav unit (Pioneer AVIC X710BT) so I have been researching for a few weeks to get as much detail as possible. I would do the install myself and have read through a few DIY's but I dont have the space or tools to do it so I started looking at installer options.

I went to Best Buy here locally today and spoke with their installer. What I was told is that they can do the install with the harness and dash kit for about $105 to $107. He raised 1 doubt though. He said that he doesnt know if the stock amp will work or not with the aftermarket head unit. He may have to bypass it and then the subs wouldnt work. The only way to make it work would be to get an aftermarket amp. I dont want to tear up the factory wiring, I was hoping that with the Metra Harness and the 5v resistor it would be a plug and play deal.

Anyone have any idea if such an issue would arise? I dont know a lot about audio and even less about Mustangs so please help me out.
Thanks,
Rishi

i would try giving the ford dealer a call and see if they can give you any advice. The Best Buy guys are not auto guru's but do know a bit about audio equipment (the good places lol). Worst case scenario, i would say you'd need to get aftermarket subs so you don''t overwork your speakers

Are you talking about the stock amps that are under the dash for the door subs? If so you'll be fine. All you need is a Metra wiring harness, it's plug/crimp and play. There is the main harness and then there is a smaller one with two blue wires on it and a set of RCA's. The two blue wires get wired to the stereos remote lead. I may still have the package mine came in if you need the model number, but they should have what you need at Best Buy, that's where I got mine. It was like $17 for it.

^ What they said. Dont let best buy butcher your car. It is not that hard to install. I got all my stuff from crutchfield and it came with very detailed instructions.
