Default Viper 5901 Remote Start Manual

I have the viper 5901 alarm installed in my 07 mustang gt Manual trans. At best buy and a few other alarm shops they refused to install the remote start due to liability with leaving car in gear. My problem is the viper 5901 states it can be used on a manual trans car as long as you follow the procedure. If you dont follow the procedure like for example you leave it in gear the alarm will disable the remote start feature. So why cant I get this installed and working on my stang :-/ They also mention the mustang not having something called a bypass but isnt that something that can be installed ? Any help will be greatly appreciated. This is the exact excerpt from the manual that came with the alarm.

Additional remote start features
Manual Transmission
If the vehicle has a manual transmission the proper steps must be followed
before leaving the parked vehicle or the remote start feature is
disabled.
1. Make sure the engine is running and the doors on the vehicle are
closed.
2. Put the transmission in neutral.
3. Press on the brake in the vehicle.
4. Apply the emergency brake.
5. Release the brake.
Note:
Pressing the brake pedal again after this step will disable the
remote start feature.
6. Within 15 seconds activate the remote start from the remote.
7. The parking lights flash 5-times confirming that the remote start is
active. If the parking lights do not flash 5-times, then repeat steps
1 - 6.
8. Turn off the ignition (the car stays running when key is turned off).
9.

10. Arm the alarm (the vehicle should shut off when arming the system).
You can now remote start the vehicle. If a door is opened or the alarm

thats weird...i work at best buy and run the shop. i installed one in an 07 gt manual as well as a pos nissan 240sx manual. im surprised the nissan started lol it was literally falling apart when it came in.

i had to use a couple relays in order to bypass the clutch, but the manual mode (which is the default factory setting on that alarm) is failsafe and the remote start wont be active if it was not shut down properly. it works well but is tedious.
i understand not installing it if the remote start wasnt designed for manuals...i refused to do it as well on previous alarms that were automatic only.

too bad you arent in so cal, id install it for ya no problem. the bypass theyre probably talking about is for the key. since the keys are coded with a chip, the car needs to see that correct code in order to start. a simple bypass module takes care of that.

I am an autotech at a best buy too. Hes right, no problem to put one in a manual as long as it has some sort of fail safe, which the 5901 does. If you want them to do it, go back and complain until they will lol. Talk to a manager. Any store can do it as long as the starter has a "Manual trans" mode. If they dont believe you at best buy, tell them to call "Secret Weapon" and ask. They will be surprised to know that we can now do manual trans installs.

Lol, yeah...that's what I thought too.
I had no idea we were authorized to do manual installs either until maybe two months ago, so I can understand how someone might not have known
