Ok my girlfriend has a 1998 Ford Taurus, I know its not a mustang but i think you guys can still help me. I am wondering what all i need to buy to get it so she can have remote door locks. it is a four door but if just the front two doors are auto is ok. currently she does not have power locks or a door remote. how much would it normally cost for the parts to do this, or should i just get an alarm where automatically does it.

then the same with cruise control, it does not have that either, how much to get that installed at the dealership?

Well I did this in a ford tempo about a year ago. here is the breakdown without a alarm
door solenoids=$32.00 each (one per door)
remote with brain=$59.00
wire (16 guage)=$5.00
cruise control=$79.00 aftermarket style bolted under the dash

I purchased everything through J.C. Whitney except the door solenoids, actually bought those at Pep Boys (local autoparts store)
I installed the whole system in about three hours, the hardest part was rigging up the solenoid to pop the door lock.
FYI if you plan on having a dealer install cruise have your check book ready I heard from some guys at work can be in excess of $500.00
