I reallt dont know. Did you really shove them hangers in there really hard. That is what I had to do to mine to get it out. Maybe try again and push themin there real hard and get someone else to pull on the stereo itself. I had to break the factory radio out in the L, and let me tell you, that was a job to get it out and not to damage anything else around it. I think it came out in about 20 pieces.

haha. there is a key for that. haha. just go to the local audio place and ask to borow the ford keys, or there could even be someone around with a set. or it should only be like 30 bucks to get a shop to instal it, and that way u have a bit of insurance if something hapens to the wireing. but be carefull there is stuff back there that u dont want to brake.

go to your local auto parts store or even wal mart, they have ford stero removal tools for $5. it is just like a bent coat hanger but on the ends there are little prongs then when shoved in to release the radio it grabs it and lets you pull it out. oyu will probably have to give the hooks a good hit in there if it has not been taken out yet, the factory jams them in good.

Coat hangers work fine with a little patience and a few wiggles.

This fellow is right...don't just jam them in there....do it firmly though...and once you've pushed the hanger in push outwards towards the door, do this on both sides of the radio. Once you feel it free up keep the key(hanger) in the holes and you should be able to start sliding the radio out...once its out a bit...grab and make sure it doesn't slide back and lock. You can do one side at a time.

Car stereo shops are kind of touchy about lending any tools....this acutally goes for any shop...car audio, mechanic, etc.

I used 2 small flat head screw drivers, and mine came out with no problem.
