Default Best replacement speakers for the $$$

I was looking at previous posts, wanted see the opinions here:

For the money, what are the best sounding (including bass and mid-range) replacement speakers for the money for the doors and rear? NO modifications please...

My research says Infinity Kappas @ $104-$149 a pair, and can fit right in the existing space for doors and rear deck.

Anyone? Input, as always, GREATLY apprciated! :

Infinity makes fine speakers & component systems. Because the sound system market is so saturated and competitive, you're gonna get what you pay for. A good rule of thumb: The more $$$, the better the speakers.

Look at the frequency range of the speakers. Try and match that to the average frequency range of the music you listen to; this way you won't be paying for speaker performance that you will not need or use. After you find a compatible range, compare the efficiency of the speakers in that range (the higher the better). Obviously, the high-end speakers will have a large frequency range and be very efficient, but not everyone can afford those systems/speakers.

I run Alpine, because they are a little cheaper, but Infinity makes pretty nice stuff. Ive noticed that their 12 inch subs sound exceptionally deep, and smooth. They are a good buy. The best way to shop for speakers is to go to some place and listen to them all. Get in your buddies car and listen just always listen to speakers. Youll find what youre looking for. Make sure that its right for your music.

Assuming you dont have the Mach 460 you have 5x7s front and rear. Just get some good quality coaxials... and like someone else said you pretty much get what you pay for. Personally...Kicker, Memphis, MB quarts are my favs for what you looking for. Mb quart has a lower line that sound great.

Get the infinity Reference series if you can find them. They have a more full sound versus the kappa. I know because I have the reference in my car. They can't handle as much power, but the sound quality is much clearer and there is more mid and bass in them. if you go for subs, go JL W3's. They are awesome!!!!!! I have 2 of the JL W3's in my trunk running off a 500/1 JL amp. Talk about LOUD

Go to the bone yard and get some factory speakers from a '95 up Crown Vic/Grand Marquis. All these cars came with premium speakers from the factory.

I found this out after replacing the factory head unit with a JVC SX980 in my wife's Grand Marquis. They sound as good as anything I've heard.

My own experience with speakers is that you can match good speakers for a reasonable cost. I have two Pioneer three way six by nines on my rear deck and i have the pioneer deh 3500 that has the 75 watt subwoofer output for the rear speakers and i have seen that the combination of both that output and the filters in the head unit that they are very good and they only cost 69 a pair. But my next set is going to have a treated rubber surround so that you can squeeze more bass out of them without distortion.

Are you planning on running an amp on them later? If not go with a speaker with a high effeciency rating. This will give you the most sound with the least amount of power. It will be easier on your wallet as well. If you are going to run an amp then of course look to the nicer speakers like everyone has been suggesting.

My Kicker K57s are doing great. Direct replacement from the old speakers. Just adapt them to the harness. (Crutchfield.com will give you the free harness adapter.)

Just stay away from Legacy.
