Default 1989 Mustang GT horn problem. Newbie Here

Ok, hopefully someone will help out. I have a 1989 Mustang GT that has the horn randomly going off. When it goes off, it's usually a continuous sound and it is more likely to happen if I try and use horn. Although the other day it did do it even when I didn't get near it. I have been told to just disconnect it but I don't even know where to start. can anyone offer suggestions? Thanks.

It most probably something in your steering, remove the wheel, but first unplug the battery for 30 minutes to drain the airbag module battery. You dont want the sucker to blow in your face

The steering has a module behind it, check the wires going to it.
Could be that the module is bad, or just the wiring to the horn.

It is no big deal to remove the steering, just remove the nut and pull the steering wheel out. You might need a steering puller, but i managed to remove mine without one, just used some WD40 and wiggled it until it came loose.

Thanks. Actually, I figured it out. Turns out the foam in between the contacts were rotted out. I replaced it with some packing foam I found and now it works fine. Mine didn't have air bags so I got lucky on the easy fix.
