Default How do I disable lock/unlock chirps on OEM alarm? (2000 Mustang)

Hello. I have a 2000 Mustang GT Convertable. I bought this car used, so please forgive me if the information is in the owners manual. I do not have that material. I also only was given one key with the Mustang. So I took it to the dealership and bought a 2nd key and had them program the key. And then I bought a second remote to lock/unlock the doors.

I programed the 2nd remote, by turning the car on/off 10 times in 10 seconds, leaving it to the on position. And finally pressing a button on the new remote. Now I have two working keys & fob's.

But it seems in the process that somehow the alarm settings were rest. The car now chirps twice when I lock / arm the alarm. And chirps once when I unlock / disarm the car. The chirps are short. Less than one second. And when arming there is a 2 second pause between the short chirps. I'm not thinking that alarm is trying to tell me something; such as a door open. I think it's just confirming lock/unlock. Which was cute dor a while, but now it's just plain annoying!

There must be some programming instructions that I'm missing. I've tried searching the best I could in Google and through various message boards. Could someone please tell me how I can remove the chirps?

Thank-you!

You are going to have to find out who's alarm was installed in there. The key fob is factory, but I'm betting that the alarm is aftermarket, or even a dealer installed Ford alarm. It works a little different than the factory set up.

In my car for instance I had a horn beep until the dealer installed the aftermarket alarm, then chirps.

I've got the same alarm its a ford alarm...and the chirps are confirming the arm and disarm. Not really a big deal. Call the ford dealer and ask if they know how to turn them off.

I have an 04 with the factory alarm. The manual says nothing about the chirps. The only thing that might help is this...

"Your PowerCode system has several programmable settings such as ignition triggered door lock, ignition triggered door unlock and automatic arming features which can be changed to tailor your systems operation to your own personal desires and/or requirements. If you are interested in changing any of these settings, call 1-800-FORD-KEY for information regarding the different programmable features and the steps to change the settings."

EDIT: Typos.
