umm...hmm...i would honestly say to take it to a dealership and tell them that sh!t is going wrong, and if they cant do anything about it, then call a stereo/audio shop and ask them what they think

ok, i'll try to find time when im back to 8 hour days..was kinda thinking that, but the closest one is about 20 miles and it takes about 20 mins to get ther eand 20 mins to get back due to traffic plus time for them to check it out - i couldn't do that on my lunch break. Right now i work too late to even think about taking it anywhere! i guess i'll have to listen to the roar of my v6 (silencer removed)

Thumbs up

If you have warranty let that take care of it.

If not, then try to find another OEM radio..swap them out...and trouble shoot it like that...if that doesn't fix it...move on.

Often it can be cheaper just to replace stereo items rather than repair, also learn to diagnose some stuff your self because the time you have paid a dealership or stereo shop labor to find your problem...then you have to fix it...which usually costs more.

Especially when you're dealing w/ OEM items...many are available because people replace them w/ aftermarket replacements.

Check Ebay for a replacement for your radio....

If it truly just skips stations and tracks...something is not right...probably not just a short unless you have tampered with some wires.
