Default Fit anything behind backseat in a vert?

Just wondering if anyone has put and amp back there by the top motor. Could a small sub box even fit back there? Anyone think it'd work? Just thinkin about it before I buy anything.

I think it is, but would it be a good idea to put the amp in there maybe?

I would recommend using a JL stealth enclosure for your car...but I would have at least a w3 JL woofer...as far as your amp...just somewhere that it can breath a bit. Remeber the more you hide it...the harder to access it and tune it,etc.

Thanks for the recommendation mattdeez. I don't think I can afford a stealth box, but I did just listen to a 10W3 in a sealed box and I think I could be very happy with that. Good point about needin to get to the amp. That definitely scratches the idea of puttin an amp there. Thanks for replying.

You can unbolt the top motor and move the mounting bracket for it over a few inches. this will leave you a lot of room to play with. I have 2 amplifiers mounted here in my car with no overheating problems whatsoever. I think the idea of putting some type of enclosure back there is not a good one.If you pull that black cover off that covers the top motor you will understand what I'm talking about.

my buddy got a 98 gt convert. with the mach system, he got a w6 jl 10 in the trunk, with the amp srewed to the box. sounds like he's got two 12 back there. that was the system he had in his 86 gt convert. u can get a sub in there no problem.

The amp will do fine there. As far as subs go, there are a number of different boxes available for the trunk. I like the dual ten inch setup.
The box should run about $60-$90, depending on where you get it.
For subs get something mid-line. With rubber surrounds and poly cones.
Then get a healthy amp. Something that doesn't have the wattage printed on the front. Get an amp with about 400-800 RMS like MTX, JL, or PPI. With some 4gauge this little setup will impress. You can expect to loose about half your sound with the top down, so be carefull not to
play past the point of distortion or you will taking a trip back to the store for some more woofers.

Do you think he has a picture or two of the '86 set up?
