Question 94 gt radio noise

I have a 94 gt that has noise in the radio that correlates with rpm... i know its not a ground loop problem i already checked that out and also it only buzzes/hums when the radio is on, but not when the cd is playing. by the way i have a jvc elkameleon head unit and a rockford fosgate amp for subs....noise only comes through the factory speakers though not the amp......SOMEONE PLEASE HELP

Its ground cheif....any noise that fluctuates w/ rpm is ground. Try to ground your radio somewhere different...like the metal chassis surrounding the headunit....not the sleave...but the structure in the dash that supports the radio...a/c controls etc. Where ever you decide to reground...before you secure the wire....use something to scuff the surface before torquing down the screw. (ie..if there is paint remove it.)

might want to check the ground from the body to the engine block. also...if you can get another radio...say from a friend...swap them and try that....so now you're at a process of elemenation.

there is more than one place this noice can come from, you also get engine noise from the rca's if they run by power wire for more than a few inches. i got mine ran on oppiste sides of the car. drivers side is my power and remore, other side rca's and sattalite wires. never got any noices

The ground strap that matt is talking about goes from the firewall to the back of the drivers side head on a fox body 5.0 , this should be the same place for the sn95 but I'm not positive . Your problem is deffinitely a ground . Either that or your running some kind of ultra high performance ignition . If thats the case then you wont get rid of it . You can buy a noise suppressor and wire it into the radio , but it's more like a band aid fix it if ya know what I mean . Good luck
