Here's some useful help.
Start at the trunk. I mounted my amp on the driver side rear seat back. Pull on the latch strap that is sticking out of the top of the rear seat. The seat back with fold down towards the front of the car. Mount your amp a little over halfway up the seat back(this way the amp clears the trunk floor when you close the seat back). Once you are there, run the ends of the wires that will connect to your head unit and battery between the rear seat cusion and seat cusion frame. You will run the wires underneath a frame bar that is oriented front to back, then you shove the wires down between the side of the rear seat the the plastic b pillar trim(plastic trim you see directly next to the rear seat cushion). At that point you should remove the plastic door sill on the drivers side by pulling up on the plastic peice enough to expose the metal trim holders so you can pry these off the corresponding metal lip they hold on to. There are four of these metal trim holders along the door sill. Once you have this peice removed, work the b pillar plastic trim away from the body and work the carpet out from underneith the plastic trim. Run the wires under the carpet and under the seatbelt mounting point then under the carpet along the front seat. Once you get this far, you will need to remove the plastic trim from around the hood latch. To do this, you need to pull out a trim plug towards the middle bottom of the plastic trim. Once this is done pull the plastic trim back towards the rear of the car and off from around the hood latch release. Work the floor board carpet back from the fire wall under the pedals/foot rest and run the wires underneith. The RCA's/remote wire will go up to the center consile and the hot line to your amp will need to go through your firewall to the battery. On my 2002 there is about a 2 inch gromit plug in the firewall right near the valve cover on the drivers side. I just cut slice in it and ran the hot wire through it towards the battery. Connect the hot line to the positive terminal on your battery and don't for get to use an inline fuse on your hot wire. After all the wires are ran, reinstall all the carpet you moved and the trim pieces you took off. If you need help with the head unit, respond and I'll speak to that. |
