Default Need Help With Cd Player

I AM A NEW MEMBER AND OWN A 1994 CONVERTIBLE. I PURCHASED THE STOCK FORD CD PLAYER(XR3F-19B160-AA) AND THE FORD HARNESS(E9SF-AB 15041)(F4DF-14588-HA).I AM HAVING SOME DIFFICULTY WITH KNOWING WHAT CONNECTION TO HOOK UP TO WHAT WIRE OR RADIO/CD PLAYER.

YOU WILL FIND THAT I SENT AN ATTACHMENT WITH THIS E-MAIL (PICTURES OF THE CD PLAYER , RADIO AND HARNESS)

1) I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH HOOKING UP THE WIRES BETWEEN THE CD PLAYER AND THE RADIO (GROUND WIRE, BLACK AND GRAY PLUG, AND THE RED PLUG THAT GOES INTO THE CD PLAYER)

2) THE PROBLEM I AM HAVING IS WHAT TO DO WITH THE LARGE GRAY CONNECTION AND THE LARGE BLACK AND GRAY CONNECTION THAT'S WITH THE NEW HARNESS . ( AS YOU CAN SEE ON THE ATTACHMENT).

3) THE CONNECTION THAT WAS ON MY CAR RADIO (F42F 19B132-AC) WAS BLACK AND GRAY WITH 6 WIRES CONNECTED TO IT ONE BLUE, TWO BLACK,ONE GREEN,ONE LIGHT BLUE AND ONE WHITE.

4) IS IT RIGHT TO CONNECT THE BLACK AND GRAY CONNECTION FROM THE NEW HARNESS TO MY RADIO IN THE MUSTANG AND THEN CONNECT THE GRAY CONNECTION FROM THE NEW HARNESS TO THE BLACK AND GRAY CONNECTION ( WITH 6 WIRES )THAT IS IN THE CONSOLE IN THE MUSTANG.

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME IF SENTENCE 4 IS THE RIGHT WAY TO CONNECT THE RADIO AND CD PLAYER TOGETHER OR TELL ME THE RIGHT WAY?

Both of those plugs will fit into the back of the top head unit (in the attached picture). Those harness plugs will fit only into one of the available inputs on the bach of the head unit...not either or. So each plug only fits in its respective location....according to its unique plug shape. All you are doing is matching shapes. Just examine the back of the head unit closely and the harness plugs and you will probably figure it out the first attempt.

Also, just in case...I'm assuming that is a mach 460 cd/ cassette thingy. The AM/FM stereo cassette must be Mach 460 if the cd player is.
Can't intermingle the standard AM/FM Cassette player w/ the Mach 460 Cd player.

I know this is a very old thread but I am interested in this before I get the parts.
What the OP said in number 4 looks correct. Now my question is, what do you do with the black wire thats taped to the gray wire? Also, there is a wire in the car already that is exactly like the gray wire but only has one end, for the cassette player. Obviously, cause I just have the cassette player. What do I do with that?
