Question 1990 gt w/6 speaker system

Hey guys,

I just need a little info. I installed my new head unit a few months ago, in the dark lol and I only used the harness off the old stock radio. Nothing was cut or etc..it was as is from the factory. Now the system has worked fine since day one, I replaced all 6 speakers and etc...Today when I replaced my blinker relay, i read on here to remove the radio to get to it better. Well I did do that to find that I had four more factory harnesses, and what looks to be a factory amp. I did get to the blinker relay from behind the dash from the passenger side. My question is, what are the other four harnesses for? I have great sound as of right now, but if i have an amp under there I want to use it. Or am I already using it? The car had the orignal radio in it and yes it still works fine, and I also have the orignal factory radio delete, which I reused. Was there another upgraded radio for the gt's of that year, or did all 90 gts have extra harnesses? Also my car has an aftermarket alarm system in it, now my friend who I got the car from lost his key pads. Is there a way for me to reuse this system, or should I just replace it?

Thanks,
Bill

The extra plugs are for the factory amp. If the plugs are all disconnected then your not using the factory amp. But if your using a headunit that has 45 watts or more, then your better off leaving it like it is. The factory amp isn't going to give you any more sound than you already have. I think it's about 20-25watts RMS a channel, the same as a high powered stereo rated at 45-50watts achievable power. I'd pull the amp out if it's still there, cause it's just dead weight. interceptor out.
