I went to Radio Shack and asked for a line level converter. There's one that's about 8 bucks and one that's 20 bucks. What you're wanting to do is change the signal to RCA...
My 02 came without the Mach system, so for me it was just a matter of tapping into the signal anywhere I could find it. Since the sub was in the back, I tapped into the rear speakers. (search for the radio wire colors online - I don't remember them offhand)
a remote lead and a power wire later, and you're set.
Keep in mind that stock speaker setups aren't designed for the extra bass of a sub - it will be out of phase from the other speakers, especially if you've run all aftermarket in the past and have gotten used to that broader sound spectrum.
IMHO, I think you should save a few hundred more bucks and get a good aftermarket head unit, with front, rear, and subwoofer preamp outputs. It allows for future expandability, cuts down on wiring time, and almost completely removes the guesswork involved.
