I installed a new stereo in my Mustang ('86 hatchback, V-6 3.8) the other day and now my car won't start. The problem started even before I got the stereo installed properly. No, it's not draining the battery, everything still works, the stereo, the clock, the alarm... The car turns over, and over, and over... but won't start. The fuel pump is making it's familiar humming sound like it should. Today I'm gonna check for a spark and make sure the fuel injector is injecting. Any other ideas? I'm fearing I may have blown a sensor and if so, I'd need to get a tow to the garage since it won't start. Oh, and yes, I've checked all the fuses SEVERAL times. Thanks in advance for helping out this old lady.
maybe bad plug wires or just a loose spark plug wire or a bad ignition module

The car is getting a spark but isn't getting fuel. The neighbor suggested it might be as simple as a clogged fuel filter. I have one so I'm gonna put that on tomorrow. Tell me this is something this old, inexperienced, gal can do?
i didnt know 86's came with v6s i thought it was 4cyl. or 5.0 i thought the 3.8s started coming in stangs in 1994

Thanks for the idea of checking the pressure regulator. That's something no one has suggested as yet. It really sounds logical I'll let you know how it turns out.
