I have the mach 460 with a Sony Explode and havent had any trouble until just recently. I am getting some noise interference when the car is running. It seems as if it gets worse when I press the gas. I have taken it out and checked my ground and even tried running a separate ground and this doesnt help. The only thing I have changed since this happened was adding a Tweecer and changing the upper intake. Any suggestions? Thanks

Does your car still have the original hood liner. If it does the back side has a metal cover that has a ground strap that needs to be connected to the body. Its on the passenger side by the hood hinge. Also check the antenea and base , if there is corrosion there it could cause static. Try disconnecting the alternator and start the engine is the static gone?
Actually, I do have the inner liner out. I was talking to my dad about the problem and he even suggested putting that back in. I will have to try that this weekend. Thanks

ok, I installed the hood liner and hooked up the ground strap and I still get this static noise. Maybe its my stereo? I have a couple grounds already installed so I know its not that. I dont recall this problem before changing the intake and adding the tweecer.

one of your wires (may be the remote wire) may be pinched or the sleeve of the wire may be torn. is everything installed correctly? rca's on one side of the car and power cable on the other side? that gives you noises too if they are not seperated.

thats what i was going to say bad ass. Definitely make sure your sound and power wires are as far apart from each other as possible. Are the sounds coming from all the speakers or just from the tweeters?

The sound comes from all speakers and of course go away when radio is turned off. The sound seems to get worse when I give it gas or press in the clutch. Its a sputtering static sound and also causes the stations to fade in and out.

My '94 Mustang with the Hach 460 did the SAME EXACT THING. All I had to do whenever it happened was unplug the harness going into the side of the amp facing the trunk on the passenger side. Fixed it everytime, and it hasn't happened in a good 9 months now...
