Question In-dash 6 disc changer will not load or eject (MACH 460)

If anyone can help me out with info on getting this $*&$!! thing unjammed it would be really appreciated!
The car only has 2800 miles on it (GT convertible) so it's still under warranty but I'm on the road and not around my own dealership for a couple of weeks. It just will not play, eject, or load more cd's. (Says CD error). Thanks to anyone who can help out!

I think you should wait and take it to a dealer . If not , you may void the warranty by tearing it open

take it to the dealer and never use home-made CD's with labels on them

They were all bought CD's no labels and not even burned ones. Is this a common problem for these in-dash changers?

I have the same problem, but I noticed it only realy happens when I've driving a while and try to get them out.
The disks are usally quite warm, if I park and let it sit go back in a half hour they come right out. Tried the dealer once, of course they leave it sit and cant find a problem. They wont look at it while it warm if I just stop in. The dealer is a half hour away and a real pain in the a$$.

I had this problem once, with a burned cd, I just took some needle nose pliers and pulled the sucker out.

Default stuck cd

Seems to be a common problem. I've had mine about two years now and it's happened twice to me. Once as others said it just came out on its own after the car was parked over night. The other time I got it to come out by pushing against it "inward" with another cd. That time it was stuck right inline with the slot you put them in. Too bad this seems to be a common problem...

Mine has had that problem too. Twice I've been able to correct it by prying it open and pushing the disc all the way in. But this time it shows that the disc ejected, but it didn't. I'm giving up and taking it to the dealer (it's under warranty).

This could be a problem on different levels......

Do not use CD-Rs that have adhesive user-applied labels, being the paper or vinyls types. You'll definitely have problems with them. Regular CD-Rs with no sticky label are OK.

On to troubleshooting the problem......

THE LESS SERIOUS VERSION:
The rollers inside the changer that load and eject the discs can get dirty. This will prevent the CD from coming all the way out. You'll still be able to see the disc just inside the changer's door. TO GET THE DISC OUT: Take an envelope and slide it in so that it goes on top of the disc. If the disc doesn't come out, press the eject buttons to get the disc out. It should come out just fine.

Keep your CDs safe and away from any dirt and dust that could get trapped on the rollers. Also, excessive heat can cause this problem, let your car and changer cool down and then try to eject the discs.

THE MORE SERIOUS VERSION:
OK, so this has happened to my changer... MECHANICAL FAILURE, pure and simple. Those moving parts that switch the discs around just stop moving. I get nothing but "CD ERROR" on the display and I can't load or eject. So down to the local fixit shop. Should cost around $200 and will be take only a couple of hours. Kind of bothersome but better than spending $600 ona new changer or taking a chace with an aftermarket unit.

i own an 02 mustang and have had this problem many times and it is easy to fix. if the door for the cd insert is open just take another cd and put it in just far enough to put enough pressure down on it to push it down on the rollers. it takes some practice to do this but it always works for me hope this helps

Default stuck cd

i had a stuck cd and searched the net for help... found that if you put a post-it note on top of the stuck cd and press down on it with a credit card to stick to the cd you can pull the cd out... BUT my cd door is still open, and says "cd error" when i try to eject or play, and says all slots full (which they're not!) when i press load. help? how to get the door shut and clear its little brain... thanks!
