Biggest Mistake You Can Make With Aftermarket Car Audio...
...is letting Circuit City install it for you. I took mine there this weekend and bought a bass tube and paid them $65 to hook it up, and the shithead broke the terminal on the positive wire to my battery. On the way home my battery light kept coming on and my volts meter was jumping, and I thought something was seriously ****** up. When I got back to my friends house, I went to turn it back on, and the engine click and didn't do **** after that. I popped the hood and saw that the positive lead was barely touching the battery post. 3 hours and $1.50 later, I had it fixed, adn the asshole told me that I could bing the reciept for the $1.50 parts on a 30 minute drive there and they would reimburse me that money, and I said they were also giving me the installation fee back. HJe said that was somethin I'd have to discuss with the manager, which I intend to do...
Long story short: Circuit City will hire anybody, so beware before letting them touch your ****...
Hey Best Buy isnt much better. They totally fried my first Rockford amp, but they did replace it. Then when I checked the gains on the amp when I got home they were maxed out, hmmmmmmmm no wonder it didnt sound right. Better off buying from on of the 2 and having someone who you can trust install it or just do it yourself.

that's why your better off doing the **** by yourself... u can never fully trust some one else to do something for u... i do all my own wiring on my car..
Did you know that Rockford makes a line of products just for BB and CC. If you ever compare the modle #'s like 200A2 to a 200AII. I don't know if there any better or worse but there not the same as the local authorized dealer. Just some FYI. Wall-Mart has the same deal with Pioneer.
I had a friend that worked there and I acctually worked at Best Buy. They put the people through no real tests and still have them work on people's cars. That is why I go to a custom shop.

I just spent 140 dollars to fix two installations they did. I'm trying to get satisfaction.
Go to their website, and complain online. It goes directly to corporate headquarters, instead of the local manager.

I have never had installations done at any of those places. Circuit city and Best buy employ greasy little kids that have jerry rigged every part of their cavalier to make it look and sound good. Taking it to them would be like having a retarded monkey show you how to eat a banana. I just love going into those places and seeing how much these kids really dont know about stereos.

Hey not true circuit city wont hire just anybody. You have to actually be pretty underqaulified 9 times out of 10. I am qaulified to work in the audio section and they wouldnt hire me.
Thats why I do it all myself or go to an audio company, a small business will take the time to do it right because they cant afford angry customers, cicuit city they could care less once you have paid for it.

I have been installing car audio at Circuit City for awhile.
I will tell you the truth on Car Audio installations. IT DOESN'T MATTER WHERE YOU GET IT INSTALLED. It all depends on the installer himself. Like i had people come from Tweeter (I know 2 people there that can install the best systems you have ever seen or heard) but A) That doesn't mean they do the same to customer's cars B) It could of been someone not caring about his job installing ir C) Coulda been someone new, etc.
Circuit City and Best Buy hire without experience, whereas Tweeter and other places want 2 years exp minimal. I know some require more.
But here is a lesson for you all. My friend (WHY I DUNNO) went to Tweeter (Most respected place out of 10 places here near me to install car audio) and he spent 2,700 DOLLARS on the best system money can buy, they installed it SOO bad he went back 7 different times to get stuff fixed and ended up returning it all and i went to Cinema (Got hookup) and got his crap for 1100 bucks and installed it all for 200 bucks (Normally a good 800+ in labor)
So it really DOESNT matter where it's installed. It depends WHO installs it.
I have never messed a installation up except extremely minor things such as scratching the faceplate (Then i get em a new one and defect the old one out) so that has never mattered. My manager and assistant managers both can install best systems money can buy, whereas the new people scare me and i end up helping them fix sh-t all day long.

I've had 3 installs done at Circuit City, including the one in my Stang. I'ev had NO complaints. The one thing they messed up they fixed that same day no problem AND gave me a free CD "for being so patient". So I think it IS more of a case of "who" rather than "where".

lol why would you let anyone install anything in your car anyway? unless you couldn't possibly do it yourself. and if you have someone else do it make sure you watch them so you can f them up if they do somethin wrong to your car i'm doing everything that i am able to do myself.
