Default I've been everywhere.. please help me wire in my sub to the 460 (vert)...

Hello,

My first post..! I'm a regular on a lot of mustang boards.. but this is the only one with a dedicated 'audio' section.

I've got an 03 Cobra *convertible*.. and I was following the Mustangworld directions to add an aftermarket sub. So I got my basslink all powered and mounted.. but CANNOT figure out which wires to splice into!! I've tried a number of different ways..

Someone told me that the article is outdated, and the colors have changed. Can someone please verify? Also, I'm told my wires should be spliced under the rear seat cushion. This makes sense as all the wires are there, and there is no 'data cable connector' near my amp rack.

My car has been torn apart for days now.. if anyone knows the correct wires to run to a line out converter in a convertible, please let me know.

Thanks a lot.. jpjr

so you're trying to wire into a speaker wire to get the signal for the amp? Im assuming this is with the factory head unit. The way i did it in my explorer which is a lot the same is you have to splice some RCA jacks onto the stereo wire. I used the passenger side speakers. I couldn't tell you which exact wires it is on a mustang because i did it on the JBL system installed in explorers.
