Shaker 500 The Shaker 500 sounds good for OEM. I think the subwoofers in the door are going to present a problem for aftermarket installers. An ingeniously mounted subwoofer somewhere in the rear deck would have utilized the ft3 in the trunk to enhance the bass. The bass is good from the door subs but lacks a reall mid range punch.
I do not have the subwoofer in the trunk but, I intend to add one as soon as i find a wiring diagram for the 05. I refuse to splice and cut.
I have had some problems with the head unit already. It has refused to function twice and it seems to skip (sounds like skipping) for no reason. I am not that familiar with the in dash changers but, have heard they have problems.
Eclipse and Kenwood make double din monitors that are very nice. Eclipse offers more capabilites but wait until after the second quarter to buy one. They have introduced it to the U.S. to feel the market. Kenwood is very expensive and you have to buy external navigation, satellite, antennas etc.
Overall - I think the single most downfall for the Shaker is that there is not satellite radio capability. Ford offers it in the Explorer, why not the Mustang. O well. I am sure aftermarket will explode with options. Right now there aren't many. |
