I was as upset as everyone else that Ford did not make some kind a input for an ipod or sat, and no info provided on the Shaker 500 or 1000 about wiring etc. I took my 05 to Sound Advice (FL),[ tweeters to the rest of the US]) and they installed a input for about $100.00 including parts and labor. Now my 05 is complete. Not really, but it will hold me untill the Panasonic double din head unit come out in may...

No the IPOD can not be controled with the radio. The Aux does not work!!! I had a "input" installed which works through the FM radio. There are two type of FM solutions. One is wireless, and i tried on of those (I-trip), and it was a poor choice. The wired FM Modulator is much better with good sound. I put a Pic in my gallery.... A company named Belkin makes a good holder which goes in the front cup holder and places the IPOD at your finger tips. As i said in the previous post this is only a short term fix. I am planning on updating to a Panasonic AVIC-D1 double din head unit when they are put out in may of 2005. Additionally, Scosch industries is making a wiring harness to allow the changout of head units. Look to a previous thread on "out with the old..." it has a wiring digram for the Shaker 500.

SRQ, So if I understand you correctly, the AUX button on the Shaker 500 does not do anything. I am dying without my satellite radio (it's digital and is commercial free). I was hoping that the AUX did something.

What is the story on the Panasonic unit you are referring to ? Will it drive the speaker set-up in the '05(I have GT '05 convertible)?

It is kind of ridiculous that Ford did not include plug ins for the Ipod and satellite radio. That probably is my only comment on any flaw in the '05.

The wireless version works ok, from what I recall. I only listened to it once, but my friend has an IPOD and used it in my mustang. It appeared to work fine.
