Post 96-98 Head unit installation guide?

Hey all. Just wondering if anyone had a link for an installation guide on a 96-98 stang head unit.

Currently have an aftermarket installed and wanted to switch back to factory (financial reasons). Don't wanna spend the cash to get it re-installed and want to do it myself.

Any help out there?

Would appreciate any info as to whether or not I need to remove the center console or if I can simply pull out the unit, etc.

We all gotta start somewhere...

Depending on your aftermarket head unit it should have come with tools to remove. Like skinny jimmies that you slide on either side of the unit to release the tabs. You'll have to remove the little rectangular trim piece right around the unit if you have one....my kenwood has one. But other than that, its just like badass said it, slide in the skims to release the unit, unplug it, plug the factory in and then snap it into place. pretty cut and dry. the hard part is getting the aftermarket unit out! good luck
