Default Mach 460 Wattages

Well fellas, the original mach 460 and speakers have had a good run. Unfortunately, ive been successful in blowing pretty much all of them out. Does anyone know what wattages the factory amps were? including RMS wattage? If i change stuff over to aftermarket i want to be equal or more powerful of course. If anyone has an idea, that would be sweet.

I hope this helps you out!

Ford Hi/Mid-Pass Amp - 2x60w = 120w Max. 2x30w = 60w Nom.
Ford Mid/Low-Pass Amp - 2x85w = 170w Max. 2x43.5w = 85w Nom.
230w / 13v = 17.7 amps Nom. 4 Ohms at 2% THD
460w / 13v = 35.4 amps Max. 4 Ohms at 2% THD

I would not use the factory amps for that. I am not sure how they are wired, but I read some where that Ford used a 2 ohm system and wired everything in series to get the ohm load to 4. If you search the form here or at http://the12volt.com I am sure you will find someone that has replaced the speakers and kept the factory amps with success. According to the speaker chart though you can fit 5.25" speakers in the doors.

yeah i understand that. thats a pretty good site and thanks. if i do the upgrade its gonna get new amps and wires. Plus, saws work well on plastic to make openings larger!
