Cool Premium Sound System / Graphic Equalizer

Hello Folks!,

I'm currently restoring a 1989 Mustang GT, and have recently come across a stock Ford Stereo, with a graphic equalizer, I believe it was part of Fords premium sound system, I have the amp that came with it, however, it looks as if the wiring harness may have been wired wrong, when ever i connect the stereo and equalizer, my instrument panel lights blow out, if anyone has a wiring diagram, or color codes for the premium system with graphic equalizer, I would greatly apprreciate it.

thanks,

Jim Ware

I can not tell you much about the wiring that is between the components of the stock system, but I can tell you that what the wiring would be if you used a aftermarket stereo. Maybe you have the a harness that is trying to draw power from the Illumination wiring.

Default Wiring Info

Thanks for the info LqDFx, it's a nice push in the right direction, I'll let you know what the results are when I eventually re-wire the amp and equalizer up....
