Default 99 GT Mach ????

My Mach stereo in my GT has an issue that I can't figure out. If I have the volume up more than 2 places past half way, and the bass also above half way the stereo shuts off. It goes off for about 5 seconds and comes back on with the settings set back to factory settings (bass, treble, fade, balance) is this normal?

sounds like its overheating. Im dont know if the factory units have the shutoff ability or not but aftermarket and amps if they get too hot will shut off. have you done any aftermarket work to any bit of the stereo that might have affected a wire?
