From what i know and read on some other forums there is no Aux input jack even though it has the lovely Aux button. Think there are some third-party groups that make some adapters to work with the mustang shaker system, but cost-wise probably smarter tjust to install a in-dash player that comes with an Aux input.
There is an AUX connector on the back of the shaker. No one has advertised having an adapter yet. This question comes up quite a bit. Metra and Scoshe are rumorded to be developing an adapter.
I took my new 05 to our local sound shop and they installed a FM adapter (wired) so it plays through the radio. Im a decent mech however, after reading many of the threads it was obvious this is a job for a pro. photo in my gallery. Will upgrade to Pioneer AVIC-D1 this spring.

I want to connect my Ipod to the AUX input of my shaker 500 but I don't know if that input exist, Is it just another radio button?. Can someone tell me How to take off the stereo off my stang?
I'm also trying to find a way to work my iPod through my shaker 500...I have the '05 stang. I actually just had my heart broken by my local Best Buy. They installed the iSimple (model ISFD71), sent me on my way and the next morning my car's dash displays went haywire. Luckily I was able to get back there and have it taken out and fixed no problems....but now back to the drawing board.
I don't know **** about what should or shouldn't work for my car and that's what I pay these guys to do and sadly this seems to be a problem for this car. I have another model coming that uses the iPod's headset jack instead and BBuy actually picked up the price difference and will give me a free installation...so even though it's the same model and probably won't work, why not give it a shot:
Peripheral Electronics iSimple Audio Player Interface
Model: ISFD31
THEN LET ME KNOW IF ANYONE WITH THE '05 SHAKER 500 FOUND A WAY!
I have an '05 GT with the Shaker 500. I ordered a Peripheral Electronics PXDP2 from Discount Car Stereo and have been generally pleased with it's performance. I ran the unit to the glove box and plug in the iPod there. The music is controlled from the radio rather than the iPod itself.
The quality of the sound is unaffected and operation is straightforward and convenient.

I didnt realize the 05's and I guess 06's didnt have Ipod jacks. My 07 has the jack in the console along with another 12 volt recepticle. The "AUX" button hooks you up on my Shaker 500 along with Sirius Satellite radio.
I bought one from Peripheral Electronic and after a few months my gauges went nuts. The iPod wasn't even in the car when it happened. I took the car to Ford and they yanked out the adapter and charged me with a nice labor bill.
