Exclamation Power Door Locks

the passenger side power door locks dont work. it is hard to lock the car by hand and with the key. i took the door panel off to inspect and everything looks ok. i press the unlock button and i can hear the actuator working. slight clicks is what i hear. the lock button however does nothing. neither power locks on the doors work but the passenger side is the only one giving me problems. i dont want power door locks. how can i unhook the actuator from the lock mechanism without removing it? please let me know how i can do this or tell me where to go to find out how. thank you in advance.

You need to unhook the actuator rod from the latch mechanisim. I don't remember exactly how it is held on but it's either with a plastic clip or the rod just goes through the hole in the latch arm witch requires poping the actuator off it's mounting bracket and rotating it to get the hooked end out of the latch. Your actuator is probably just bad. They bind up sometimes and wont move. If you unhook it and try to move the rod in and out it should move pretty easily. If not it is junk.

yeah i figured it out. i removed the driver side door panel and noticed it didnt have an actuator. thats why it was so easy to lock. i just pushed one of the side clips off the actuator and once it popped off, just popped the other side off. unhooked the wires and wiggled the arm off the lock mech. the rod goes straight up, 90 degree turn so it looks like an L, then a 90 degree turn back. so it goes, when it is installed, Up, 90 degree so its horizontal, then 90 degrees back up. just for others who wanna remove it. thanks for the reply and this site kicks @ss. thank you tbird, and thank you everyone else.
