Default Convertible Speakers

Is there a way to get the rear speakers panels out of a convertible and put them in the coupe? I know there are two plugs under the rear seats but I don't know what those go to. and where would be a good place to mount an amp to something besides the back of the seats?

I'm guessing you want to mount the rear speakers of the convertible into the same spot but into the coupe?

If your doing this, yes it is possible but you'll need to take the seats out, take off the plastic that the speakers are attached to and do the same on your coupe but hack open new holes for the speaker panels. The speakers are 6 1/2's and the ones on your rear deck are 6x8's. Doing this is quite the hassle to have extra speakers, but it can be done. If you are sure of what your doing my advice is get some new 6x8's for the rear deck or 6x9's and customize the hole.

For mounting the amplifier this all depends on if you have subs/ if you are in need of lots of trunk space. Personally I would mount them on the back of the sub box but that's me, you may not even have subs...

Please explain more of what you are doing and I can help you further.

Everything thing is stock right now. I have 2 12' Subs in a box specifically for mustang coupes and I also have an amp and a 1 Farad Cap. Im waiting to get my radio to put everything in. I was wondering if the rear side panel speakers out of a convertible could replace the rear side panels in a coupe. That would give me a couple extra speakers to play with. I would have the 2 doors, 2 rear side panels, and the 2 on the rear deck. Would they snap right in or would there be a problem because the back seat folds down in a coupe and not in a convertible? Is the bottom half of the rear seat any different? Forget about the amp location. I figured something out. I will build a rack to place the amp and capacitor on behind the sub box.
Thanks for the help

I would think that they WOULDN'T fit because I know when I removed mine to install my speakers they have those push pins to hold them in in locations where there would be air behind your fold down seats and there's a few more push pins on the flat top part of it which you can only get to with the top down. I would think you could cut out the side panels and fit SOMETHING in there like some 6 1/2s or maybe even 6X9s from the front.

They are a lot different. I think I just stick with my speaker setup and just upgrade to infinities.
Thanks for the pics
