Question SCOSCHE Integration Adapter

I own a 2000 v-six mustang. It's not the Mach 460 model but it does have a top mounted cassette player and the compact disc slave unit. I bought the JVC KD-AR860 from crutchfield along with the scosche FDK5B amp integration harness. I installed everything and it seems to work fine but there is no sound. Not even static. The scosche harness has gain controls and i've tried adjusting those but I haven't had any luck. I connected my harness to the connectors that were originally attached to the cassette player, which consisted of a grey rectangular connector and a black square 8 prong connector. What did I do wrong?
Anyway, i've installed plenty of aftermarket stereos before, but i've never had to deal with a factory amplifier. I appreciate any help. Thanx.

back check the wiring from the amp and see which HU it goes to, If your Cassett player is the master and the CD is the slave, I would disconnect the Cassett and replace the CD and just leave the Cassett in place unless you upgrade and get an equalizr to takes its place.

Forget the adapter! The factory amp is as powerful as the outputs from the new radio. Under the CD player in the console is the factory amp. REMOVE it with screws from driver's/passenger's sides of the console. The factory SPEAKER wires are right there connected to the amp. Wire the radio right into those and forget the amp.

I am also looking for info on installing an aftermarket HU so any related info is awesome! Regarding MgKenny's last post, I was under the assumption that the factory speakers in the Mach 460 system had a different ohm rating than aftermarket deck output's so the factory amplifier had to be integrated or else all the factory speakers replaced with aftermarket's. Like i said I am awaiting info on my similar HU install and im not positive on the amp integration so any input would be awesome!

I have also checked out crutchfields FDK5 for the mach 460 system which integrates the factory amp in unison with an aftermarket HU. Its the obvious failsafe choice, however is there a way to wire the aftermarket HU into the stock Mach 460 amplifier without the need of the gain controls the scosche harness has....saving money is saving money right.....however i dont want to jeopordize the SQ. Thanks
