Default Re-wiring mach speakers

I have a new headunit mated to the factory mach system and I recently one of the door subs started going out. I replaced them with alpine 6x8s and now I'm kinda aggravated that all I get is bass out of the new alpines. I was wondering if I completely rewire all the speakers directly to my pioneer headunit and bypass all the amps, will I run into problems with speakers from the mach system that I haven't replaced yet? Will my headunit sound good powering the factory speakers?

I really don't think you would have much of a problem as long as you manage to stay above 4ohm on the speaker rewire. If you wire the speakers to anything lower you are placing a load on the Pioneers amp that it is not rated to handle. You can wire the speakers in a 8 ohm load (Two speakers per channel like so).

Is there any specific advantage or disadvantage to wiring them like that. They're all 4ohm speakers, and there will be two speakers per channel so should I wire them that way?
Wait, if I wire them this way then I'll only be using two wires for each channel and then a connecting wire between speakers...so I can use the wiring for the tweeters thats already run from the dash out and just splice into the existing harness rather than running all new wires. You're awesome.

The advantage is that when you run the speakers that way you are not over taxing the head unit. It only has so much power, do not expect too much out of it! Remember that you have a head unit that has maybe 45watts per channel and the Mach system has 460watts total. With 8 speakers and 4 channels out of the head unit, wiring two speakers per channel is your only choice unless you want to go out and get some amps to replace the stock ones. I have a system in my 90 hatch that is 2000watts and that does not include the head unit! It was expensive, so decide what level of sound you want out of you system and when you get it all hooked up and it is not what you wanted, be ready to spend more money to replace what you had.

If you need more info on the Mach systems, goto www.flemworld.com, it is an awesome resource that help me alot with my friends 95 when we re-did he system!

My headunit is 50wx4 and I know it's not as powerful as the original mach system was, but I keep hearing from people that whatever power the headunit has will sound better than the factory stuff. Also, I plan on replacing everything anyway so this is the first step I guess.
