Default Mach 460 New Deck Install

I have a 95 Gt.

I got a deck with rca outputs on it.
I am told this was best way to go to wire into existing mach 460 audio which I have in my car.

So what I think I need to do is buy the harness and hook up power, grnd, etc.
Then take RCA wires, plug them into deck output, then cut off the other ends and splice them into the speaker wires on the harness?
Does this sound right?

Bottom line?? No.... go to your local car audio shop and get the proper wiring harness to match your year of stang. Plug it in and save the RCAs for adding an aftermarket amp for subs later. Much easier and too many problems to list will arise trying that rig job.

My understanding is that I cannot simply plug in speaker leads to the harness because of the mach 460 setup and the factory amps. I need a low signal ouput, such as those from a pre-amp out on the deck if I wish to use the factory setup.

I need two harnesses, one with a gain adjuster, which if I understand correctly, I will not need if I use the RCA outputs.

Just looking for some sort of verification on this information

I am waiting on my monitor to show up so I can do the install and put everything in all at once. I will be sure to post what I did when and if I can get it working.

Gotcha...... this is what you'll need. Check it out at Crutchfield, or maybe your local car audio shop, Best Buy.... wherever, but this will get you going WITHOUT wasting a set of RCAs. Save those for the subs :thumbsup
