Default speakers wet??? Loud screeching noise..help!!!!!

Ok i am new on here so here goes..

I have a 2000 ford mustang convertible 3.8 liter that has a mach sound system in it. Well i guess my convertible has a little leak in it cause its been raining in dallas constistantly for 2 days...well when i went to turn my radio on today, it was working then all of a sudden it made this loud screeching noise that sounded like one of those emergency broadcast systems tests on T.V. only it was coming out of my sound system and even with the volume all the way down, it still was extremly loud. Now i was told from a coworker that it might be the cones in the speaker....yet the grill covers and stuff were dry..........

However, when i went to put my seat belt on i noticed the seat belt strap was wet.......

what is causing this noise and what can i do about it?

thanks

Default not speakers

you have 2 amps in the back of your car they are right behind your back seat and it sounds like they got wet if you pull the carpet and the liner that covers your top in the trunk out you will see the two silver amps thier on the floor you maigh be able to pull them out and dry them out but i really dont think they will work you have a couple of choices one is replace them with factory amps or if you have a after market deck in thier metra makes a bypass harrness to bypass the amps i sell car stereos for a liveing i have seen it before and just finshed a 2000 droptop on monday i added a sub amp and alarm with remote start but i have add after market amps to replace the factroy ones before and i have bypassed them with a after market stereo also it useally is cheap to go after market amps or just a 4 chanle amp then buying new factory amps but if you have a after market head unit in thier you cn just bypass them and like i said metra makes a plug to bypass those amps it is plug and play no cutting
