Default New Sound System Reccomendations?

Ok well i have a '97 GT and looking to putting in a nice system along with making it fast.. anyways any suggestions on a setup for the system?

My budget is.. hmm i really dont know 1-2k(i really dont have a set amount because i dont HAVE to put it in tomorrow if u know what i mean)? for the system i suppose BUT i have a friend that can get me a good deal on just about anything electronic for a car (he has a relative that owns a Car Audio type shop)

anyways im wanting something that really kicks, but sounds good too not one of those systems that just like blaring in ur ears (i had a nice system in my camaro before i sold it for the stang and it handled the 'show off the system with good bass' type thing but it also sounded REALLY good...

I think i want a mix of both but i really would like the kick in this system... I took out my backseats so i can use trunk+backseats for box and all that, i also want it to look nice... anyways thanks in advance

Im running all JL Audio in my car. have the amps and cap under the rear seat delete, and the subs in the trunk firing back. Clean smooth bass, and piss off the neighbors loud when I need to.

it is all about what your goals are. Do you want something insanely loud or something that you can lisen to with ease and still have some in reserve? Once you figure out how loud and how big you want to go, set a budget and then do some research. Figure out what all you need, wiring, fuses etc etc

Well i'm currently running 2 MTX 7500's off of an Alpine MRD-M1005 1000 watt amplifier and It hits so hard that it makes my Pioneer deck skip! I had this exact same set up in an '05 2500 dodge ram quad cab and it didn't hit anywhere near as hard as in the stang. I would say that these subs compare to the JL W6. Rated at 400 watts rms/800 watts peak. And that Alpine amp is 1000 watts rms @ 14.4 volts @ 2 ohms, and 700 watts rms @ 14.4 volts @ 4 ohms. Solid amp, and very compact. If you have any questions at all about stereo stuff, it's my number one "hobby"/ job.

here are some pix of the system inside the car.

For everything shown in this picture i paid 400 for the amp, 200 for the deck (3 years ago), 300 for both subs and i think only like 15 for the box. I have stock door speakers as of now and an extra 4 channel amp that i thought i wanted to hook up, but i don't think i really need it. I'm very impressed with how loud the speakers are even though they aren't amped. I've always had my door speakers amped ever since i've had systems in my cars and didn't realize how loud that deck made those speakers. What i'm getting at is that I recommend something similar when it comes to subs and amp, but i think you should do decent door speakers... like alpine type r's or something.

Im just suprised yall havent found out the space under the rear seat for placement of Amps. That way you dont have to bolt them to the rear of the seat where they can get rattled around from the Bass. You should have enought room even without a rear seat delete kit.
