I went to my friend's garage to have the kenwood ddx-8017 installed, but found out they ran out of it, I saw them install the newer model (kenwood ddx-6019) on a 350Z, by the way the interior sucks big time in that car, anyway, the screen on that unit was really large (6.95" ~ 7"), they powered it up and the screen was plain blue, almost no GUI (I said to myself I'm not paying that much money for just a blank boring screen. Anyway, while my friend is still tryin to get me the kenwood 8017 which has a better GUI, I found today that alpine has a new model released (Alpine IVA-W200), and you can download wallpapers from alpine's website too.

the truth is, I want the touch screen to impress passengers more than to watch dvds while parking; and really who parks their car to watch a movie?

so now, I just would like to know which one of these too I should get:
1) Kenwood ddx-8017
2) Alpine IVA-W200

Mainly in terms of looks. I also heard the iPod configuration is much better on Alpine.

i would absolutely go with the alpine. aside from better quality sound, the alpine makes it WAY easier to use the ipod. however the w200 isn't new, it's been around for a year, but the price has dropped dramatically. i know because i sell both systems and i went with the w200.

Kenwood cannot touch Alpine.

Dont be foolish; buy the Alpine.
