Default Trouble with Kenwood Head unit and Sirius tuner

Merry Christmas,

I recently replaced my Shaker500 head unit with a Kenwood DXP501 and a SIR-KEN1 tuner. The installation went smoothly. I was suprised how easy it is to take apart the interior of my car, but that's another story.

About 20 minutes after the radio was installed I noticed that the display was not displaying the correct info. After a few days on the phone with Kenwood, Sirius, and Crutchfield the only solution was to have crutchfield send me a new head unit and tuner. Unless the tuner or cable connecting the tuner to the display was bad, this obviously wouldn't work.

It didn't. Has anyone else encountered a similar problem or know what I could possible do to fix this? Now that I went through all that trouble I don't want to send it back, reinstall the factory radio, and go back to regular FM stations.

Help Please.
