Shaker 500 and 1000 (Automatic Increase in Volume - You're killin' me)
My Fellow Mustangers,
I've noticed what I first thought was going to be a cool/great feature on my stereo--- an automatic volume increase control on the Shaker 500. In other words, on my '07 GT, the volume automatically increases as your speed does.
Given all of us from time-to-time have to dispatch/blow away various other makes of vehicles by increasing our speed - rapidly. I find this feature annoying at the end of dusting someone. (I am "invigorated" by the kill, however, my stereo is blowing the dust out of my ears and my teeth are chattering.)
In all seriousness and kidding aside, even with moderate increases in acceleration, the stereo volume is increased too much and I'm having to constantly turn-it down.
Please help this rookie out, is there a way to "turn-off" this wonderful feature?

Thank you for the help/assistance. I figured a guy with a screen name of WirelessScottie would spank me with the response.
As background I should have included in the original thread - I do NOT have a user's guide! The dealer has it on order?? When I bought the car, the dealer said they "just got it and the 113 miles was from test drives." One day after buying it, I noticed dealer paperwork in the center console with a buyers name on it - marked as delivery purchase as he was to show financial proof... Well, obviously, he couldn't and the car was taken back by the dealer!!!
I quickly checked CarFax (as I was pretty fired up about being lied to) and the car has never been titled. So technically, it was new, but you can bet that was a rough 100miles on her, and the Dealer is NOT trustworthy. As they say, Caveat Emptor (buyer beware)!! Thanks again for your quick reply. I can now go forth and get a few more kills today in auditory peace...

Reason: clarification...

Yep, my Scotties, all six of them, have made me that way. McLeod Scotties
What a creepy dealer. When I bought my GT500, I wrote into the contract that the dealer coud not even do the predelivery inspection unless I was on site. So, when the car arrived (last October) it sat until I arrived at the dealer. It had 2 miles on it. Since I paid a huge markup over MSRP, I was in the driver's seat (no pun intended) as to how I took delivery.
My guess is the dealer loaned your car out or used it as a demo.
Did you successfully change your SPEEDVOL. Personally, I leave mine on a setting of two (2) and am quite happy with the moderate volume changes, especially when I stomp on it and the supercharger whines and the exhaust screams.
Switching gears here from another of my posted threads (reference missing carpet syndrome):
Yes,
FallnAngel, I went to two dealerships close by armed with your photo (and others) showing that a piece of the carpet is missing and thus potentially causing 'wet feet syndrome.'
Classic!!! Dealer opens up a few other '07's on the lot, all missing the carpet then says, "wait here" and retreats to the "tinted-window" sales bullypullpit room to get the story.... 15 minutes later, allegedly his boss, the 6'8" sales/a.k.a. "bulldozer" for customers like me walks up and towers over me- hands me a business card of an upholsterer and says this is how the cars are made and basically get lost. heh, quality is job#1.
What's that old joke, kiss me before you.... ___ me. Yeah, that's how I felt........ Not over yet baby - got the Regional Ford Service Director's email and will try writing him a letter. Bottom-line, I'm going to say is - you represent Ford Motor Company - I am loyal to your brand - what does that mean to you...we'll see....take care.

This is why Ford lost $12 billion last year. They are your best friend until the contract is signed, then you are only a nuisance to them.

As a Texas Tech alumni - great to see the Ford Mustang GT gospel being spread by you in RaiderLand.
And yes, the carpet in my vehicle (and aparently many other GTs) is missing a fairly decent chunk of under-dash carpet. In my vehicle (see my pictures / and others in this thread) - it is missing from passenger all the way across to driver side. Shortage of carpet at the factory I guess - or I like to stay positive and think it is new way of warming your feet by not insulating it from the firewall
I keep it in perspective, I am not driving a Bentley here (thank god), and I enjoy / love my "American Made" GT as I routinely dispatch many kills per week in it. Great car, just wish the quality was on par with its' technology!!
Happy Hunting - Go RedRaiders......
