Question 2006 Mustang GT Alarm Going Off For No Reason

Yesterday after picking my Angel up, I stopped by the
Ford dealership to talk to a friend and to let him see what
she looks like now. I left the window down and only "locked"
the door, no alarm set. While standing near the car, not touching
the key fob in any way, the alarm went off 3 times????
Even the salesman was floored. Has anyone else has this
issue?? Is there a "sensor" type alarm when the doors are
only locked? It was crazy, the first time I thought maybe it
was my fault, but there was no doubt after where the fob was
I did not set it off????

He suggested I re-format or reset my key fobs. I'll try that
for now. Does anyone think that maybe a low battery in
the fob may be the cause.

Default Motion sensor?

That's odd! I think that the motion sensor on the alarm system is pretty sensitive, though. I've locked my doors with the windows open (out of habit, since the lock button is right there!) One of my friends reached inside through the window for his sunglasses, without touching the car at all, and set the alarm off. I couldn't believe it, so of course I had to try it for myself. Based on what I've read, I think it has a "Ultrasonic Interior Motion Sensor", so maybe something's faking that out?

Definetly weird. Maybe I'll email Ford and see what
they have to say about the alarm system they installed.
Nice feature, if that is what it is "a feature" I just want
to make sure there is not a problem with the fob or something!
Thanks!!

Default Sensors

I added an ID just so I could contribute to this conversation. If you look at the sides of your map light cover, in the center of the car you can see some lenses. I Think that after a set amount of time the lenses send out a search for movement in the car. I've noticed myself that if you wait long enough you can't put your hand in the car. And I think that no matter how you lock the car, it will arm itself. To be honest the dealer where I got my pony didn't know the small details about my car either, it's a little irritating.

Well, I'm having similar problems. My car seems to arm itself even though I don't lock it because I keep it in my garage. I open the door and the alarm goes off. It just recently started doing this. I wish someone could figure it out.

I was told it was a problem with the computer having had power removed. I sent mine in for a little while (39 days!!) to get the front clip replaced after I met a wall thanks to some ice. Once I got is back the alarm would go off whenever it felt like it. I also used to use a key I carried on a lanyard to unlock the door after I would run so I wouldn't have to carry the whole mess of keys I have. Before the work it was fine. Now that I have it back I open the door with the key and the alarm rings off. Even after hiting the unlock button on the fob.
