Default Returning to original Mach 460 Equip

Hey folks,

I have recently opted to return my sound system to the factory fitted Mach 460 head unit and CD-Player. Since I have owned the car (late '94 GT) I have been using the installation made by the previous owner - An Addzest AM/FM/Tape head unit in the upper 1 din slot and a graphic equalizer in the lower all wired in through the factory system. At some stage it had a changer attached but didn't come with the car. I tried a few changers but to be honest they skipped a lot and were a general head-ache (I have adjustable gas Bilsteins all-around).

Anyway, I managed to get a mint original head unit and CD-player from the 'States (I live in the UK). Just one question; how do I power-up the CD-Player slave unit? I have all the correct cables and the head unit works fine - This includes the data feed to the CD unit. However, I have one redundant plug (centre of the head-to-CD link cable) that has no where to go! I have searched everywhere under the dash but to no avail.

Any advice would be really appreciated.

Cheers.

Stay away from the 460 just rewire the speakers and run a aftermarket radio with a couple a small subs in the trunk u will have lots less trouble. Use a ford adapter to tie into then factory plug for the power to the radio exc and run the wires directly to the speakers. I got rid of my 460 because the factory amps crap out quick. I went with a sony with the USB port in the front so I don't even need the CD player.

Default Mach 460 CD Slave

Thanks for your response. The Mach system certainly gets a mixed reception - It seems to be unpopular due to its complexity. Essentially, my reason for going back to it is I didn't like the random Addzest installation and wanted to replace it with the Mach for originality, etc. I may well upgrade at some stage but to be honest I have other areas to spend my funds.

I'm still stumped on this CD-slave power connector though - It just doesn't seem to have anywhere to go. Strange as the entire harness is there just as it would have been when it left the factory.

Cheers.
