Default 1999 mustang aftermarket amp installation

i recently installed my amp and subs into my mustang. it has the mach 460 system in it. i tried to splice the remote wire into the remote wire coming from the factory head unit. when i did this all the speakers stopped working. can anyone tell me why this happened, and what i need to do to correct that. as soon as i take the remote wire off, the speakers start to work again. thanks for the input.

Sounds like you need to run your remote to the fuse panel and leave the factory amps alone. The wire you chose has only so much amperage to powerup the factory amps, so when you tried to splice into it, it could not send enough power to the factory amps to tell them to turn on. Find a fuse that has power when the key is in the "on" position, probably the radio fuse, then tap into it. If you have the key off and your sub amp is still on, find another fuse or it will drain your battery when the car sits.
