Default How can I get rid of Seat Belt/Key Bell in my new Mustang?

Hey everyone I'm new here and to the Mustang world, have a whole 128 miles on my new Gt and the seatbelt/ignition key bell is driving me crazy, it's gotta go. Does any one know if it's just a plug-in box or is it made into the gauge cluster. Help Please
JT

I'm assuming it's a new (i.e. S197?) model?
Check the manual

You don't need to modify/remove/disconnect anything. In the manual you will find the "sequence" to de-activating it. In the 2005, it was a series of "turn on" "turn off" "buckle/unbuckle, repeat 3 times" lather, rinse, repeat like steps. After which, the belt alarm has been deactivated for the seat. Repeat for the other (passenger) seat.

Repeat the steps to reactivate it.

Occam's Razor, as adapted:
When more than one solution exists, the simplest is usually the best.
Have you considered simply rolling down the windows and closing the doors?
Works just as well, and doesn't lower the resale value due to having disconnected or deleted stock safety systems.

It is a relay that you have to find by the kick panel, a chilton or haynes manual should, SHOULD, show you where that is.

Cool Sattelite Radio?

Has anyone out there changed the radio in an 06 GT to a newer in order to take advantage of Serius broadcasting? If so what is involved and about how expensive is it?

you can get the sirius package for about $100 these days. Or you can get a aftermarket headunit that is XM or sirius ready, and then get the adapter for the headunit and a install kit. Not that hard really

I bought my 2003 used (and without an owner's manual). And I, too, think it would be nice to (reversably) turn off the annoying seatbelt reminder. Maybe this would be a good place for anyone who does have their manual to post the sequences for their model year.

*So if anyone has their manual handy and wouldn't mind posting the sequence to turn off the seatbelt bell I, for one, would really appreciate it!

The seatbelt chime is a feature called "Belt Minder". It can be disabled on any and all post 2000 model Fords by following the directions in the Owners Manual, located in the Safety and Restraints section. The sequence of events required (open door, click seat belt, unclick seat belt, turn key, etc...) is different for every single Form model and year. It is intended to be a pain in the rear to deactivate so that a user does not do so accidentally.
