Default Speaker wire porarity issue

Hi guys, I am searching for the polarity of the speaker wires in my Mach 460 sound system. The wires coming to the speaker have one striped wire and one non-striped. I assume the stripe means + and the non stripe mean - polarity...can anyone confirm or deny? Thanks!

The striped wire is usually the positive. But you never know.
You can be certain by hooking the speaker up. If you can see the speaker, turn the bass up on your radio. The speaker should be pushing out with each hit of the bass drum. This is correct polarity. The speaker is designed to push out , move air, and project the lower frequencies.
Wire it the other way and you'll see the speaker moving back which would be incorrect polarity. You will also hear a lose in low frequency if the polarity is wrong. If your speakers are not marked for positive and negative, you can take a 9 volt battery, run a wire from the positive terminal of the battery to one terminal on the speaker and a wire from the negative terminal of the battery to the other terminal on the speaker. Correct polarity will push the speaker out, incorrect polarity will suck it back.
I hope this helps.
Good Luck!
