Question Best way to plug in XM to 2005-2006 Shaker 500 without using an FM mod?

Hello,

I've got a 2006 Mustang GT with a Shaker 500, I've been doing some research all day trying to figure out the best way to plug in XM to this head unit, without having to use an FM mod. From what I can tell this is compatible with a "XM Direct for Ford CAN Vehicles with iPod Interface Option FD-XMFD5" This comes with everything I need (antenna, xm tuner, and module) that will allow me to change stations and see text from the factory radio.

$199 found at
XM Satellite Radio at MyRadioStore - XM Radio Receivers - XM Direct for Ford CAN Vehicles with iPod Interface Option FD-XMFD5

Which is better than $430 - the dealer stated they could only install a Sirius product, and that XM wouldn't even work with this radio. I don't think that's really the case. Anyhow, is this product the best bet, or is there anything else?

Thanks!

Joe

this adaptor here is supposed to work.

FRD04-AUX - PIE FRD04-AUX 2004-07 Ford CAN-BUS Audio Input Adapter - Accessories - Precision Interface - Discount Car Stereo.com - Detail

i have the shaker 1000 and want to hook my sirius into my head unit. the site where you can buy the adaptor says that the mustang has been pulled off of the compatability list, but i spoke with someone from PIE today and they assured me that this will work.
